Challenge
Residents experienced health complications linked to diets high in animal-based products. The care home sought innovative, evidence-based solutions to improve health outcomes while ensuring nutritional adequacy and resident satisfaction.

Our Role
As a Default Ambassador, EviHealth Consulting collaborated with the care home to design and implement a plant-based nutrition program. Through stakeholder engagement, trust-building, and strategic communication, we secured support for the initiative.

Solution

  • Proposal Development: Comprehensive plan created using Google Workspace, Canva, and PowerPoint.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Addressed dietary concerns, introduced phased implementation of plant-based meals.
  • Menu Design: 100% plant-based, low-fat, whole-food menu tailored for residents with diabetes and hypertension.
  • Collaboration: Partnered with Rethink Your Food and a registered dietitian for nutritional accuracy and staff training.
  • Community Integration: Advocated for certification of local plant-based producers; partnered with Benny’s Farm for fresh produce supply and resident farm tours.

Results & Impact

  • Health Outcomes: Average blood pressure reduction of 10 mm Hg; 15% decrease in medication doses; improved blood sugar readings and energy levels.

Lessons Learned
